02/21/2007 In the last month our forum has been spammed heavily. For that reason new registrations were made impossible for some weeks. Now the forum is back with all features availabe to prevent spammers and hackers from exploiting it. Sure, spammers will certainly not bother to read this... However, their new accounts won't be displayed anymore, and also not be scanned by (so-called internet) robots. Therefore, signing up only costs them a lot of wasted time. Any new user account including a commercial domain will be deleted (usually within one hour only).  
Winter 2006/07 Due to the long awaited, but unfavorable decision of the US Distric Court - Debra's appeal was denied - we established a 'news' function directly on the page "Table of contents". This way, we believe, we made sure that every visitor to this homepage instantly notices these latest developments. Please also note the response written by Debra, in which she states about her emotions in regard to this denied appeal. The unfavorable ruling of the judge can be downloaded here (pdf document, close to 15 MB).  
05/05/2006 Since Debra, her defense team, friends and family are awaiting a decision of the Federal Court there was unfortunately nothing much to dd other than the whole audio file of the tape-recorded interrogation of ROGER SCOTT. We felt this might emphasize credibility and give our web visitors a chance to follow the whole interview, how both individuals talked and what was said. The file was directly taken from the police records, recorded in mono and is streamed from a MP3 file.  
02/02/2005 In late 2004 well-known talk show host and investigative reporter BILL KURTIS published his book "The Death Penalty on Trial - Crisis in American Justice". In that KURTIS' displayed and described the tactics employed by country prosecutor NOEL LEVY in regard to the RAY KRONE case. Thankfully we were allowed by MR. KURTIS and his publishing house Public Affairs to use excerpts on our webpage in order to explain in greater detail how the ruthless efforts of LEVY landed an innocent man, MR. KRONE, on death row. We also added comments in regard to Debra's case which will explain how LEVY managed to get away with the unfounded claim of a 'conspiracy' which actually never existed.  
12/19/2004 We inserted some updates to the page The conspiracy theory. The page now contains more facts found out from the records of ROGER SCOTT'S trial and draws an even narrower circle of conclusions.  
10/28/2004 Subsequent to the second amicus brief being filed in Debra's case by the Center on Wrongful Convictions, Northwestern University School of Law we put it on this webpage as well. You may read the Motion for Leave to appear as Amicus Curiae here and the actual brief here.  
07/01/2004 We decided to move the website debbiemilke.com to a new hosting provider as of July 1st, 2004. 05/05/2004 Are you also of the conviction that wrongful jury decisions are unlikely to happen in the US? Are you maintaining the position that 'They all say they're innocent'? Well, think again. The well-respected NEW YORK TIMES published an article on April 17, 2004 about a forthcoming evaluation, headlining 'A study suspects thousands of false convictions'. The facts addressed herein are a wake-up call to every concerned citizen.  
03/12/2004 More stunning information is contained in the transcript of ROGER SCOTT'S testimony at his own trial. In the first two thirds he was led on by his own defense attorney to continue telling his primary story. But upon cross-examination SCOTT all of a sudden attempted to recant his initial incrimination, but was forcefully suppressed by the County prosecutor.  
02/25/2004 Not only the documents in the file of The Debra Milke Case are interesting in order to portray what truly happened and how the murder of 4 y.o. CHRISTOPHER CONAN MILKE took place, but we also took a look at excerpts of JIM STYERS' testimony at his own trial. The transcript of JIM'S testimony is completely in sync with other witness' accounts, and it is in huge parts very likely to be believable. According to JIM'S account, ROGER SCOTT shot CHRISTOPHER just as the three were on the way back to the car. This happened behind his back, and therefore he wasn't really an eye-witness of the murder.  
02/25/2004 While Debra is going into the fifteenth year of unjust incarceration in solitary confinement, we took another look at her file. In order to verify the suspicion that County prosecutor NOEL LEVY had a part in inventing the allegation of a conspiracy theory, we analyzed his closing argument at Debra Milke's trial, which set the foundation for the jury to reach a guilty verdict against the young woman. Please read, how LEVY managed to misrepresent facts, portray Debra as an evil woman thus taint the jury and achieve a guilty verdict.  
09/28/2003 The freshly introduced page Why Debra Milke is actually innocent was redesigned with some details. Additionally - other than the verbatim police report of DET. SALDATE - we now also offer a commented version of this crucial report. If you're already familiar with the case you'll know that this is the only piece of evidence linking Debra Milke to the murder of her son; the fully fabricated and not witnessed, not tape-recorded and not signed 'confession'. In light of the comments added to this report you'll be able to comprehend instantly how irresponsible, backward and biased it was for Judge CHERYL K. HENDRIX to allow it into evidence in a case of a capital crime. At the end of this page you'll find a survey which gives you the opportunity to express your opinion whether this 'police report' should've be instrumental in the state's case against Debra.  
05/22/2003 And one more supplement to the police report was added to the chapter "The case": Supplemental report of ROBERT MILLS. It unearths more facts surrounding the incrimination of Debra by ROGER SCOTT and SALDATE'S motions as a result of that.  
05/10/2003 An additional page to the chapter "Introduction" was added: Why Debra Milke is actually innocent. This document is supposed to be a first introduction to Debra Milke's case, describing what she was accused of and how those claims fall apart upon closer examination. Therefore the text links to most of the single pieces of evidence and reproductions available on this website.  
04/29/2003 We have updated the pages Debra Jean Milke's Story and Report of the interrogation of Roger Scott and DET. SALDATE'S Case Synopsis. All these pages were re-examined and updated in light of the results the research of the last two years yielded.
Another new page was added to the chapter "The Case", namely the supplemental report of OFFICER CRISWELL. This record demonstrates that the timeline as depicted by the State at Debra Milke's trial cannot possibly be the correct one.
Additionally the page about NOEL LEVY'S first proven-innocent death row convict RAY KRONE was updated. An article of 'The Arizona Republic' was included, describing how investigators "continue to attempt to fabricate evidence" against the exonerated man, who was proven innocent by DNA. 		 
03/31/2003 We added comments to the New Times article 'Death-row Debbie'  
03/23/2003 Accidentally an old article of the Mesa Tribune had been found, reporting the shocking homicide committed to CHRISTOPHER MILKE. We included that article, "Neighbor's shocked by boy's death", as a part of the chapter "Media coverage" ["Local media coverage in 1989/1990"]. Interestingly, this article - published on December 5th, 1989 - does not yet state of a voluntary confession of Debra Milke even though DET. SALDATE claimed that she had given such a confession to him two days earlier.
We have also - eventually - finished formatting the lengthy law essay, authored by former Judge RUDOLPH J. GERBER, "On Dispensing Injustice" [chapter "Miscellaneous"]. It's a descriptive and enlightening article which reveals a lot about the malfunctioning Arizona 'justice' system and gives insight and corroborates what went wrong in Debra's case when it came to her trial.
Additionally, and as a result of the research presented on this website we eventually had to update the page "Debar Jean Milke's story" in the chapter "The Case". 		 
03/15/2003 The 'Claim of Actual Innocence', one of the first pages published on 'debbiemilke.com', was now updated and added with comments from the findings of the years 2001 and 2002. These comments are in no way meant to attack or trash the former defense team, yet it will prove to the onlooker how false assumptions and a lack of detailed and diligent research led to a wrongful defense strategy on behalf of Debra Milke in the years between 1992 and 2001.  
03/09/2003 We added an additional interview which is not a part of the legal records of Debra Milke's file. It's the transcript of a tape-recorded interview of ALAN SWANSON, a fellow worker of JEAN PUGH and therefore another local witness who confirmed that five to seven shots had been fired. The interview was made by County Attorney's Office investigator STAN REICHSFELD and Phoenix DETECTIVE ROBERT MILLS.  
10/27/2002 The chapter "Pro Debbie" was now completed with two new pages: the first one is called "A try at enlightenment". It tries to shine some light on the true occurrences surrounding the tragic murder of 4-year-old CHRISTOPHER MILKE by putting facts from the pertinent police and trial records into a timeline. This synopsis shows that the story told by the State is a complete fabrication and deprived CHRISTOPHER'S mother, Debra Milke, as well as her entire family to grieve properly about the loss of the little boy.
The second document is titled "Justice in Arizona". It shows the ruthless tactics of ARMANDO SALDATE in order to sandwich JIM STYERS between the unbelievable incrimination of ROGER SCOTT and the fabricated and alleged confession of Debra Milke. 		 
10/23/2002 While doing research on the internet we happened to come across the page of another Arizona death row inmate, SEAN RUNNING EAGLE. RUNNING EAGLE claims very similar abuse of SALDATE, which is why we included his account to this website so you can read RUNNING EAGLE'S words for yourself.

June 2002 The next step in Debra's legal proceedings was taken, and we can now include PROF. LEO'S evaluation about SALDATE'S alleged confession, as well as a Separation Notice from SALDATE'S Personnel File. Both documents state in clear language what kind of person the former Phoenix Police Detective was and is.  
April 2002 Firstly, we've been able to obtain a copy of the TV interview of former Phoenix police detective ARMANDO SALDATE in which he cut reporter MS. COSIC off when she was inquiring about The Debra Jean Milke Case and the so-called 'confession'. Instead of explaining his motives and the situation in which the interview took place SALDATE elected to throw MS. COSIC and her team out of the home. Secondly, an updated version of "Thoughts of the webmaster" is available, including more details, falsehoods and discrepancies that have unraveled with our most recent research of the available legal records. Truly an enlightening document ! 		 
January 2002 We've added information and a link to order RENATE JANKA'S forthcoming book, "Laßt endlich meine Tochter frei". At first this book will only be published in the German speaking countries, but negotiations for an English release are currently going on as well.
As a part of the chapter "Major players instrumental in conviction" a new page, "More background information on JUDGE HENDRIX" was made available. 		 
December 2001 In the chapter "For the defense" we included two analytic essays: "Compound motivations used against Debra Milke" and "The conspiracy theory". Both pages show how unfounded the indictment of Debra and the allegation of the prosecution was. We also included "Background information on Judge CHERYL K. HENDRIX".  
November 2001 We also included the pages "SALDATE'S testimony at the Voluntariness Hearing" and "SALDATE'S testimony at the Jury Trial". Additionally a very interesting telephone interview of a local witness, JEAN PUGH was found. An enlightening result of the preceding documents is the page "SALDATE'S motive to fabricate a confession" and "The flashing breasts incident". Both essays show that SALDATE is a cop whose unethical tactics violated Debra Milke's due-process rights and were prejudicial to her legal position.  
October 2001 The more our research continued, the more we started to understand how the tactics of the police authorities against Debra Milke actually went: the added pages "Report of interview of JAMES STYERS", "Report of DET. HAMRICK", "Report of interview of JANET FROEBE", "Report of interview of MAUREEN SADEIK" and the updated version of the "Jailhouse letters between JAMES STYERS and Debra Milke" prove that SALDATE'S decision to arrest JIM STYERS and Debra was preconceived and solely based on the self-serving ramblings of ROGER SCOTT. These documents tell a different scenario than the one painted in by the State ... they reveal that ROGER SCOTT shot 4 y.o. CHRISTOPHER MILKE without any indication for a pre-planning or remotely comprehensible motive.  
September 2001 Having been to Phoenix, Arizona we had the chance to do some research on our own, which yielded quite a bunch of new pages on this webserver:

In the chapter "Major players instrumental in conviction" the page "LEVY'S dirty trick" has been added. It shows the ruthless tactics of the prosecutor to ensure a conviction of Debra Milke at any cost. 		 
09/02/2001 An updated version of the page "Interview of SANDRA PICKINPAUGH" was created. It contains a trial transcript of how the tape with the interview of SANDRA PICKINPAUGH entered the trial.  
08/20/2001 We have now finished including more crucial documents to the website, which are of relevance to stress the injustice done to Debra Milke and uncover the sloppy work and determination of former Phoenix Police Detective ARMANDO SALDATE to railroad her.
In the time after their arrest JIM STYERS and Debra were writing letters which SALDATE referred to as "evidence" for guilt, which they are actually not. These letters are of no big secret, therefore we publish them in the chapter "The Case."
Other interesting documents are SALDATE'S report of his interview with ROGER SCOTT, which contains his rambling incrimination of Debra and the tape-recorded interview he gave DET. MILLS. Both records show that SCOTT was unable to supply a clear story about the alleged involvement of Debbie in the murder of her son.
Another crucial document was included, wherein Debra's sister, SANDRA PICKINPAUGH, was interviewed by the former defense attorney, Anders V. Rosenquist. In that transcript SANDRA tells us how the County Attorney's Office, SALDATE and the victim witness (guided by prosecutor Noel Levy) were treating her as a witness to have her testify against her sister, but what the real circumstances in her personal life were. Very interesting!

The only reason for their demeanor was to accomplish an indictment not only of ROGER SCOTT, but also of Debra Milke and JAMES STYERS. Read how the lies and falsehoods of the authorities were uncovered, only to win this case against Debra Milke at any cost!
No, we're not finished yet: On the same workday that ARMANDO SALDATE wrote his report containing the alleged confession of Debra (8.50 a.m.), the report of his interview with ROGER SCOTT (01.57 p.M.) he wrote a case synopsis (12/07 at 00.30 a.m.) wherein a lot more discrepancies could be uncovered, which are even contradictory compared to other police records. NOEL LEVY was already in the picture, and as you read on, please come to your own conclusions about that.		  
08/04/2001 Another original document goes online: SALDATE'S case synopsis, written December 06, 1989 (11.50 p.m.) - December 07, 1989 (00.30 a.m.). Again, various discrepancies could be uncovered.  
07/30/2001 In order to complete this website with statistics of how the State of Arizona handles imprisonment, performance of justice and the death penalty, we have included an excerpt of "The Liebman report" to our chapter "Miscellaneous".  
07/22/2001 The more "debbiemilke.com" works on original trial- or police-records, the more the pattern of former Phoenix police detective ARMANDO SALDATE, JR. can be proven. We include SALDATE'S original report (written 07/06/90) of his interrogation with SANDRA PICKINPAUGH to the website, uncovering a line of lies that are completely fabricated and falsified in order to accomplish character assassination of Debra Milke.

06/18/2001 Beside some minor graphical corrections we have added two more documents from the police report, namely an Interview of HENRY and ILSE MILKE, as well as SALDATE'S Interview of MARK MILKE. Those pages are now added as preparation for an intended page on other possible scenarios that have never been taken into consideration by Phoenix police.

05/25/2001 MR. PAUL HUEBL, a Phoenix private investigator and investigative journalist tells the background story on interviews he had with jury members of the Debra Milke trial. He also tells his assertion about Detective SALDATE'S interrogation with Debbie sister SANDY PICKINPAUGH which served as character damaging evidence.
Other than that we updated the pull-down menu on the main Table of contents. 		 
05/10/2001 A string of new pages have been added. First of all, the alleged confession written by SALDATE can now be reviewed word by word. We have also added a transcript of his interrogation with Debbie's sister, SANDRA PICKINPAUGH. This interrogation was probably the most incriminating item in Debbie's trial, but appears to be very questionable.
The increasing support worldwide allows us to raise a defense found account in the United States and we have finally translated the extensive article of DER SPIEGEL, "Monstrous, diabolical, evil" in English language. Thanks, ARCH! 		 
04/22/2001 Debra's mother, RENATE JANKA, had the opportunity to hand over a voluminous protest signature list to Arizona's General Attorney, JANET NAPOLITANO, at the campus of the Tucson University. We added that info on your activities page.

11/09/2000 Not very satisfied with the media chapter we decided to work over it and update it completely. The new structure divides old coverages and their pre-sentencing character from the current coverages worldwide, that are not prejudiced and well investigated.

June 2000 You may have noticed that we have switched ISPs and have updated a lot of the pages.
