On 12-3-89 at 4:50 PM, at the request of LT. JAHN, DET. ERNIE HAMRICK and I drove to the Pinal County Jail which is located in Florence, Arizona. Upon our arrival in Florence, we were instructed to stand by at the jail facility until DET. ARMANDO SALDATE could respond to interview DEBRA MILKE, who was waiting at the jail facility.
Comment: The first paragraph of this report alone is very informative. Debra Milke, later accused and convicted of a conspiracy to commit murder of her 4-year-old son CHRISTOPHER MILKE, was waiting at the jail facility in Florence. She had been confronted with the name of ROGER SCOTT at noon that day, when she was interviewed by DETECTIVE DAVIS [inside the apartment of JIM STYERS at 11.30 a.m.]. This incident indicates that the conspiracy theory - as alleged by DETECTIVE SALDATE and later prosecutor NOEL LEVY - is more than unlikely, and Debra never attempted to escape.
We can conclude that Debra was waiting there from 6.35 p.m. until 7.55 p.m., when SALDATE finally made contact with her. That's one hour and seventeen minutes !

When DET. SALDATE arrived at the jail, he contacted DEBRA MILKE and interviewed her there. DET. HAMRICK and I then drove to 23200 XXXXXXXXX in Florence, Arizona, for the purpose of contacting family members at that location and notifying them of the death of CHRISTOPHER MILKE.
Comment: This means that the detectives HAMRICK and DiMODICA couldn't possibly know the results of ARMANDO SALDATE'S interview with Debra Milke at that time. The later purported 'confession' cannot have been known to the officers. SALDATE was still inside the Pinal County Jail interviewing Debra and hadn't emerged from the interview room yet, alleging her statements to a participation in the murder [which Debra always and consistently denied].

After we had notified the family of CHRISTOPHER'S death and the arrest of DEBRA MILKE, DET. HAMRICK interviewed DEBRA'S father MR. SADEIK and her step-sister, KAREN, Please see DET. HAMRICK'S supplement for further interview information.
Comment"... and the arrest of Debra Milke". This proves undoubtedly [together with DET. HAMRICK'S report of his interview of JANET FROEBE] that the arrest of Debra was preconceived and solely based on ROGER SCOTT'S self-serving and incoherent incrimination of Debra, in an altered story told at least sixty to ninety minutes after SCOTT'S initial confession to his involvement in the murder of CHRISTOPHER.

I contacted DEBRA'S step-mother MAUREEN ELIZABETH SADEIK and interviewed her. Please see the attached interview supplement for further information.

Upon completing our interviews, DET. HAMRICK and I returned to the Pinal County Jail and re-contacted DET. SALDATE who stated that he had placed DEBRA under arrest for the homicide of her son, CHRISTOPHER. DET. HAMRICK and I then returned to Phoenix.
Comment: This is a very interesting and enlightening statement. SALDATE together with Debra emerged from the Jail dispensary room and happened to meet his fellow detectives who have just returned from the SADEIK property. He tells them that he had placed the young woman under arrest but makes no mention of a 'voluntary confession'. Hardly believable.
